Finding Time To Make Money
Feb 13th, 2007 by Freddie
Is it just me or did Monday to Friday whizz by in the blink of an eye?
I wouldn’t mind except that I didn’t seem to get enough done. In fact the earth was zipping around the sun at such a furious pace I barely had time to knuckle down on some of the delicious money making projects I’ve been focusing on at the moment…
Still I guess we all have weeks like that and the weekend was a stonker. Debz gave me license to go out on Saturday (without curfew) which meant I was able to catch up with some old pals. I think she’s being especially nice to me at the moment as some kind of insurance that I don’t mess up Valentine’s day. She needn’t worry too much though, I’m on top of things this year.
Normally I book up a restaurant 9 years in advance and we scoff up ‘Valentines’ Specials’ in a clinking room full of disorientated looking couples. But this year we’re not doing that…
Why?
Well as much as I like… no LOVE eating out, I can’t help but feel that romancing my wife at the beck and call of the card companies is a little superficial. It feels forced and inorganic.
The problem is that you can’t boycott Valentines day, no way! That’s like saying that a) you’ve forgotten or b) you don’t care. Neither will make your partner think very highly of you!
So in the end Valentines’ becomes a weirdly mediocre peacocking display of romantic prowess tempered with ranty ‘I hate the Valentines day commercialism’ interludes.
OH CHEER UP FREDDIE! Ok, ok… good, rant out. I love having a blog, rantings so therapeutic.
Actually there is a silver lining to all this ridiculousness…
What’s that? I hear you cry.
Well check out this Tuesday’s Money Tree - I shall reveal all. Valentines might be a pain for grumpies like me… but it can be made into an incredible business opportunity for us all! After all there is loads of money to be made from opportunities like these.
Right. Better go and find a card I suppose…

Very informative indeed
Ahhhhhhh! YES YES YES.
Valentines day drives me MAD. Spot on Freddie.
Am I the only woman that thinks valentine’s day is a complete waste of time? My partner and I didn’t even get each other Xmas presents this year - we didn’t need to. We get each other things during the year instead, when WE feel like it. So bah humbug! At least I’m not an advertising victim.
